Welcome to Monroe

Our trip to Monroe was just as exciting as we expected.  We started out and headed to Dallas, TX. I  stayed and hung out with some friends, while Keith went to recruit at a High School tournament that was in all the surrounding areas. We stayed there until Sunday, when Keith got done early. This led for us to get on the road early and were expecting to get back to Monroe around 8:00pm which was great considering Keith had his first day of practice at 6:00am and I had my first day of work at 8:00 and didn't know where I was going. We started driving and about halfway (two hours later) Keith blows a tire. We get off on the next exit, luckily it was right there, and pull over. It was almost dark by now and the jack of the car was broken.

At this point, it started raining and we knew nothing about the area we were in. Keith has AAA, so we called and an hour later, they arrived. The man quickly changed his tire and we were ready to go, or so we thought. When I went to start my car, it wouldn't start, it kept clicking so we knew it was a dead battery. We had to run down the AAA truck to turn around and help us start my car. We finially got it going, after we had stopped the traffic at this exit due to the AAA truck being in the middle of the road.

We then started going again with 170 miles to go, only being able to drive 50 mph. Yes, that is right, half the speed we had been! This lead to us driving for 4 1/2 more hours, completing the trip to Monroe at 12:20am and a 6 1/2 hour drive. We unloaded only the things that HAD to be used, and finished our trip. I am finally here in Monroe, and ready to continue the adventure! As for now, I have really enjoyed it and meeting all the nice people!!

VERY hard to see, but that is the Louisiana sign.
