Good-bye Hutchinson, Kansas

Here goes my first blog, so sit back and enjoy! I have been living in Hutchinson, KS for almost a year now working at Grene Vision Group, while Keith was coaching at Hutchinson Community College. I got to move their last November, and was so nervous that I was moving away from all of my friends and family. I moved with the thought that I was still close enough to go home when I needed, and if I couldn't find friends, I could always go home. Little did I know, that June 20, 2012, my entire life would change again. I have never really stayed in one place very long, so I don't know why this was such a surprise to me. However, when I heard the news that Keith was moving to Monroe, Louisiana, to be Recruiting Coordinator at University of Louisiana-Monroe,  my thoughts were a little different. I was so excited for him, but yet so scared for me. But sure enough, two weeks later, we had loaded up the Uhaul and started to head South.

I was lucky enough to get to go down and help him move, it was a long four days, and a lot of driving, but we had gotten there and had him moved in. When I got home, it became a must that I wanted to move, Hutchinson was no longer the same and I knew the reason I had moved there in the first place. I also knew though, making this decision would be a lot more difficult than an hour away. Keith and I talked about things, and decided when an opportunity came about, I would load up my things and move. Over Labor day weekend, I got to go back down and spend the long weekend with him and got to meet all his new friends. I also was able to meet with a cataract and lasik surgeon as well as his staff, just to let them know if anything was open, to let me know, and I was looking. Three hours later, as I was boarding my plane, I got a call and was offered a job in Monroe. I was sitting in the airport and was excited, scared, confused, and crying. After talking with Keith, my parents, and family, it was obvious that I was moving to Monroe, and not regretting anything.

So here I am now, with a week off and trying to get my stuff together to head down South. I had a great weekend with family and friends, and so excited to see where this move takes me next. My parents and I loaded the rest of my stuff, and pulled out of Hutch. It was a great year of finding new friends, a new job, and a new adventure. But now it is time to move on and find what else God has in store for me. So good-bye Hutch and hello Keith and Monroe, LA.
