Take Me Out to the Ballgame

This last weekend I enjoyed a great trip out to the ballpark. We headed out to Jackson, MS to watch the AA Atlanta Braves team play again. This time though, we took a crowd! This last weekend was the last home games for the Mississippi Braves and I wanted to be there.

We headed up a little early to stop at Time Out Bar and Grill, supporters of the Mississippi Braves. We had some appetizers, played some darts, and got ready for the game. For all of you wondering, my partner Sarah and I beat all the guys in the dart tournament which made for some great banter the rest of the night.

We headed on to the game and it was packed! Saturday was Fan Appreciation Day with 5 dollar tickets and 1 dollar hot dogs and drinks.  We placed ourselves out in the picnic area and had a great time making friends with the left fielders. The opposing team's left fielder was way more fun to yell at and talk with as he continued to yell back at us (maybe because they were winning) and even came to sign the ball that he threw to Keith during the game. We had fun tweeting at him and he even retweeted and tweeted me back! (It's the little things in life)

The game was a hit and we all had so much fun! We got out of there with two baseballs thrown to us, a raffle winner of a grill set, fireworks and multiple souvenir cups! I am very glad we could enjoy the last home games of baseball season.

Kansas Vacation

After a month long hiatus of blogging, I am back! I was not purposely trying to stop blogging, but 1. I was very busy at work (who would have thought I would ever say that) and 2. I did not have much going on that I thought anyone would be interested in. So here I am again and with a very eventful week long vacation!

My vacation started with a 9 hour trip and first stop in Blue Springs, MO. Erin and Cindy recently moved there, and I am so glad I could finally see their house. Everyone was awaiting our arrival, which made me even more anxious to get there. It was very enjoyable to get to hang out with my brothers and sisters and catch up.  The weekend consisted of card games, a bounce house, and super hero day at the zoo with the little ones. They are all growing up so fast and are truly so smart, they don't forget a thing!  I was also able to catch up with some friends Saturday night downtown!

Sunday I headed back to Great Bend. I was able to hang out with my parents for most the time home, as well as, see a couple friends Monday night also. Dad, Mom, and I made our way over to Larned to have a nice supper with my Grandpa Schartz and Aunt Ruth Ann.  The rents and I rented movies, had some great lunches, and as always, spoiled me!

Wednesday I headed towards Hutchinson. I was able to go to Grene Vision Group, have an appointment, and then have happy hour with some ladies from work. They all were doing so well. I even got to meet the newest member of the group, Baby Emery. After that I headed to Nickerson for a Mexican Fiesta! Andrea had made a great supper for all of us to enjoy as well as some great Margaritas! I enjoyed hearing all about their softball team this year, and wished I was still apart of it. We had a lot of fun playing dice and cards the rest of the night.

Thursday morning I headed on to Lindsborg. With all the rain that everyone was having, it definitely took me a while to get there. We drove around all of Lindsborg seeing all of the flooding that had occurred. Luckily, Keith's parents were not affected to much. We were able to golf in the afternoon with nice cool weather, something I am not longer used to. I actually put on a coat because I was a little chilly with 72 degree weather. After a nice dinner with his parents we headed back to the Ol' Stuga for some drinks with Keith's brother.

Friday morning Keith and I loaded up the car once more and headed to Topeka, my dad and mom were there for a monthly work meeting so we met them for my favorite lunch, Jose Peppers! I very much enjoyed it and so glad we were able to go (yes, that is my inner fat kid thanking you) On to Kansas City we went, and this time to Olathe. We arrived at Matt and Jana's where one little boy was anxiously awaiting, no nap needed! He loves getting to see people and spending time with them. Everyone joined for supper there, where Jana made an amazing meal for us all! Late night cards is always a must when we all get together. Saturday was so nice, while the boys all went golfing, us ladies had a great time talking and going to the park. Sunday went quick as we just grabbed a bite to eat, and headed on our way back to Mornoe. After 10 hours, 35 different state license plates, and 27 dead armadillos (before it got dark) we arrived back home.

I had such a great trip. I think back and realize how lucky I really am. I miss everyone everyday, but blessed to get the opportunity I have today. Thank you for everyone who made this trip awesome, and sorry to anyone I did not get to see. I am already planning my next trip back!
